Admittedly not the ‘Game of the Year’ version, but the base Bloodborne game is still however worth picking up however, even if you’re not a fan of the Hidetaka Miyazaki developed Souls games, and just want to see as to whether the FromSoftware developed title deserves its numerous accolades.

I’m personally not a fan of the Souls games, although I’ve only ever played Demon’s Souls – a game that left me a tad cold at the time. Since then, I’ve actively avoided the Dark Souls series, and only got turned on to Bloodborne because of its faster combat and Castlevania inspired gothic art direction.

I’m glad to say that despite my existing prejudices, Bloodborne has turned out to be a rather fun, albeit quite an intense, experience at times. Indeed, and whilst some other players may scoff at the amount of hours I’ve put in, I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve put in at least 10 hours, and intend to go back at some point in future. Just got to finish a few other games in the meantime – such as Gravity Rush on the PS4…
