One of the things I really like about the Evercade line-up of consoles is how the company has been able to evoke the same nostalgic feeling that was so reminiscent of cartridge based gaming devices of the 90s - such as the Sega Mega Drive and SNK Neo Geo Pocket. However, whilst Evercade (and its parent company, Blaze Entertainment) should be commended for pursuing a nostalgic retro feel for their console and ecosystem (where users are encouraged to collect cartridges that are designed to be inserted into consoles), not everyone is able to understand and appreciate the value that the Evercade ecosystem brings to the marketplace - especially when emulation devices (by companies like Anbernic and Retroid etc) are readily available, and where gamers are encouraged to download retro games for free.
With that said however, and whilst Evercade is indeed marketed towards retro enthusiasts, one of the things that makes the Evercade ecosystem stand out from the likes of Anbernic and Retroid systems etc is that its games are pretty much "plug and play" - where one doesn't need to mess around with downloading titles and then having to spend time in optimising their settings before they can become playable.
