Formed in January 2020, Lanterns Studios is an independent videogame studio that's based in Tunisia (North Africa) and which has big dreams of wanting to deliver AA/AAA narrative focused videogames. As part of this, the studio is developing its own internal games whilst also taking on work-for-hire outsourcing projects.
I sat down with Jihed Jaoubi (CEO, Lanterns Studios) in order to find out a little bit more about his software startup, and also got to hear about his struggles in establishing his company in a country that isn't (internationally) renowned for its game development pedigree. Enjoy!
Jihed, as the CEO of Lanterns Studios, could you tell me a little bit about your studio, how you formed, and what your own professional background is? Why did you decide to form your own studio as opposed to working with another studio in a top job capacity?
Yeah, so Lanterns is a videogame development studio based in Tunis, Tunisia (North Africa). We started about 5 years ago, and Nabil Brahem is the COO, and Oussama Ben Mariem is the CTO.
